Soapbox Car Races

We went to the YMCA soapbox car races a couple of Saturdays ago. I'd never been before. It was really fun. Although, Hudson was pretty disappointed that he couldn't participate. He thought it was pretty unfair that you had to be 7 years old. :)

The boys are way into cars these days. Mark's been educating them. We can't drive ANYWHERE without them pointing out a fast or fancy car.

Look at these cuties! They got tattoos from the Bikers Against Child Abuse at the soapbox races. Elliot said he REALLY liked his. That's a little scary.

Here's a clip from the races.

Guapo's Birthday

Aaron, or Guapo as the boys call him, turned 30 this year!
Celebrators
Little candle blowers
Aaron's parents came over to celebrate.
The boys all dressed up for the occasion.

Hotter'n Hell

Just so everyone knows, that's the name of a bike ride that happens in Wichita Falls every summer in August. And seriously... IT IS HOT!!!

My dad and Mark both rode in it and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The boys and I got up and went out for the start. It was early, but really fun to see all the cyclists.

Mark with the guys he rode with.
Mark on his way to the starting line.

We saw several more creative riders... decorated helmets, an actual couch on a tricycle, cowboys, and more.
My dad and couple of his friends.

And they're off...
After the ride, we went to a fundraiser for Give Kids the World.
A few highlights from the event...

McGruff the drug dog with his officer friend decided to have a sword fight with Owen and Nathanael. Owen was all about it. It took Nate a few minutes to decide it was okay to take part.
